RU female student rescued in Dhaka

The female student of Rajshahi University (RU), who was abducted from RU campus allegedly by her former husband on Friday morning, was rescued from Dhaka on Saturday noon.
Confirming the news, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner (RMP) Mahbubur Rahman said that they will disclose the details in this regard at a press briefing on Sunday.
Following the abduction, over two hundred female students of the university started their demonstration on the campus on Saturday morning demanding immediate rescue of their fellow student.
Later, they formed a human chain in front of the universityâ€™s main entrance from where they declared a two-hour ultimatum to find out their fellow.
The students also submitted a memorandum to RU vice-chancellor demanding realization of their seven-point demand including finding out the abducted student immediately, ensuring the overall security of the female students on campus, setting up CCTV cameras at each and every female dormitories and allowing female students to enter and come out from the hall after evening.
The vice-chancellor assured them of meeting their all demands.
On Friday morning, the final year female student of Bangla department, who was also allotted to Tapashi Rabeya Hall, was abducted from in front of Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Hall by her former husband Shohel Rana around 8:15 am while the victim along with her two classmates was heading to department to attend at final year examination.
