People asked to refrain from sharing militant content online

Bangladesh Police have asked people to refrain from uploading and sharing over social media any kind of content in favour of militant activities. 

People have also been advised to refrain from making any comment and liking on such content on social media like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. 

Uploading and sharing of any video, photo and news in favour of the Islamic State or militant activities are punishable offences under the existing law, according to a press release issued here yesterday by the police headquarters. 

Police will take stern action against the violators under the existing law, the press release said.
