KUET sanctions Tk 60 cr budget

Net revenue budget of Tk. 60cr 80 lakh has been approved for Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) for the fiscal 2016-17.
The 2016-17 fiscal budget and the 2015-16 fiscal revised budget of Tk. 45cr 95 lakh have been approved when the budget was propounded at the university syndicate meeting (53rd Special Meeting) on June 26.
The budget was presented according to the recommendations of the Finance Committee of the university on the 33rd meeting held on March 14, 2016.
KUET sources said, "The possible amount of government grant by the University Grants Commission is Tk. 57cr 38 lakh in the original budget of 2016-17 fiscal Tk. 60cr 80 lakh, while Tk 3 crore 42 lakh revenue will come from its own sources."
Allocation scenario is-- 37 crore 75 lakh in the salary sector, 9 crore in pensions sector, 6 crore 70 lakh in common accessory sector, 4 crore 65 lakh in education accessory sector, 1 crore 30 lakh in repair and maintenance sector, and 1 crore 40 lakh in capital grants sector.
A total of Tk. 45 crore 95 lakh revised budget for the fiscal year 2015-16 was also approved at the syndicate meeting. The amount of government grant by the University Grants Commission in revised budget of 2015-16 is Tk. 42cr 60 lakh while the original budget for the fiscal is Tk. 45cr 95 lakh, and rest of Tk 3cr 35 lakh revenue is from its own sources.
The meeting was presided over by the university vice-chancellor and the president of syndicate of the university Professor Mohammad Alamgir.
