RANGPUR, June 15: Hundreds of people are thronging different markets for purchasing Eid items here to avoid last moment rush.
Traders at different markets, shopping malls, complexes and wayside makeshift markets said they have been witnessing a huge sale as Eid shopping has already got momentum amid tight security measures.
The shopping places have worn festive looks with rushing men, women, girls, boys, students, youths and adolescents for buying items of their own choice with huge enthusiasm in
the city.
Police sources said security measures have been tightened to enable the rushing people to do marketing without any problem, and no untoward incidents were reported so far from anywhere.
Besides, authorities of the business establishments, business organisations, shopping malls, complexes, markets and centres have also taken their own security measures to ensure peaceful environment for the shoppers in
the city.
According to business community sources, Eid shopping in all of the markets, shopping malls, complexes and wayside markets has already got momentum in the city much ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festivity.
The Zila-parishad run Super Market, Maya Exclusive Faison House, 'Rangan', Zila Parishad Community Market, Salek Market, New Market, 'Karupannya', Jamal Market, Jahaz Company Shopping Complex, City Plaza, Shah Amant, Moti Plaza, Adi Janata, Bismillah Garments, Madina Garments, Honumantola Market, other markets and shopping malls are being turned overcrowded daily in the city.
While talking to BSS, young female buyers- Kamrun Nahar, Aklima, Afroza, Taslima, Sultana, Choity, Tabassum, Kohinoor, Kulsum and Shabana at different city markets here said price of clothes is higher this year compared to the previous year's.
The young girls and adolescents are mostly purchasing three pieces of
various designs like 'Jhilik', 'Tumili', 'Chhanchhan', 'Ranjona', 'Khushi', ''Kironmala', 'Bazramala', 'Pakatima', Anar Koli', 'Dipika', 'Sonakshi' Jibika', Discochally', 'Chhammakchhalla', 'Ulalla', 'Agnikonnya', 'Soti', 'Aksara', 'Heroin', 'Chennai' and many
other items.
A number of traders at Super Market, 'Rangan', Zila Parishad Community Market, Salek Market, 'Karupannya' and City Plaza said the buyers are purchasing goods despite high prices of clothes for male, female, babies and children this time.
Besides, sales of shoes, cosmetics and other smaller Eid items have also increased at the city markets and the same will further increase in the last days before the Eid-ul-Fitr festivity, they said.
President of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abul Kashem said that sale of Eid items is relatively higher this time much ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival because of huge positive change in the economic condition of the common people. ?BSS
