Another arrested in SP's wife murder

CHITTAGONG, June 11: Police in Bangladesh have arrested a second suspect in the murder of one of their colleague's wife.
Mahmuda Aktar was murdered in the southern port city of Chittagong last Sunday while on her way to drop her 6-year-old son to school.
Her husband Superintendent Babul Aktar was involved in several successful anti-militant raids in the coastal district.
A CCTV camera caught three persons fleeing on a motorcycle after stabbing and shooting her in a chillingly similar fashion followed in previous attacks carried out by suspected Islamic Militants.
Mahmuda Aktar Mahmuda Aktar Chittagong metro police chief Iqbal Bahar told the media on Saturday that they have arrested a 28-year-old man, identified as Shah Zaman alias Robin, from the city's Bayzid Bosatmi area.
Police Commissioner Bahar said that they suspect Robin to be one of the three assailants who took part in the killing. "We are analysing the CCTV camera footages. We suspect he's one of the killers."
He said that they will produce him before the court on Sunday and seek remand to question him.
On Wednesday, police said they have arrested a suspect, identified as Abu Nosur Gunnu, from Chittagong's Hathazari Upazila.
Police have also seized a black microbus that also appeared on CCTV and detained its driver.
It was assumed that the driver witnessed the murder but police are unsure about his possible involvement.    ?bdnews24.com
