Outsourcing creating employment in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, June 10: Outsource Experts Limited (OEL), an office of image editing services, located at Kadamtala area of the town, is playing significant role in alleviating unemployment through providing jobs to the youths.
According to sources, Atiqur Rahman Mollah of Panchpir village under Chandipur union in Sundarganj upazila set up the OEL office in Dhaka in 2009. Later, a branch office of OEL was also set up here and started operation in 2015. As many as 300 workers, who have training and skill on graphics design, are working in four offices of OEL.
 At present, a total of 180 workers are working with photo treatment services at Gaibandha office in three shifts. The remaining 120 workers are engaged at two offices in Dhaka including one in London, UK.
Senior Manager of Gaibandha OEL office M. Ataur Rahman Sujon said, "We take work order on image editing services from the customers of different countries of Europe and America through internet. After completing the editing work, we send those to the customers timely through internet, and in this way we earn remittance that is adding to the country's economy."
The office is playing vital role in resolving the unemployment problem of the local youths as almost all the workers of the office here are the inhabitants of the district.
The employees of the office are becoming self-reliant economically and providing financial support to their families.
Ripon Miah of Sicha village under Sundarganj upazila, who works as a team leader at the office, said after passing HSC he had to suffer a lot for unemployment. After taking training on graphics design he joined the office as a junior graphics designer and became the team leader after getting a promotion, he also said.
At present, he gets Tk 28,000 per month as salary from the office which he never thought earlier, he added.
Like Ripon, many employees of the office are getting handsome salary against their works, said Ali Kaisar Babul, an official of the office.
Atiqur Rahman Sumon, chief executive officer of OEL, said they had taken a plan to recruit more 700 employees including 150 female ones at their offices within 2018.
As part of the female recruitment activity, a total of 64 women had been selected and they are being provided training on graphic designs, Basic English course and official etiquette at the arrangement of Sarah Institute of E-Generation, a sister concern of OEL, he also said.
After completing the training, the successful female candidates would be provided jobs at the office without delay, he concluded.
