Armed assailants shot dead a trader in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga district in a broad daylight on Monday afternoon. Deceased Nazrul Islam, 36, was the son of a former UP chairman and a resident of Tiorbila village.
Quoting witnesses, police said miscreants, numbering 6/7, picked up Nazrul from near his house and took him to Gazir math area at about 3:30pm.
“They stabbed Nazrul before being shot and left the place,” said an eyewitness account of the horrendous scene.
On information, police force from Tiorbila police camp and Alamdanga thana rushed to the scene and recovered the body. Alamdanga than OC Sheikh Atiar Rahman said neither the reason behind the killing nor the identities of the killers could be known immediately.
