A ten-member business delegation, led by Salman F Rahman, former president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Vice Chairman of Beximco Group, leaves Dhaka for Saudi Arabia today (Friday) with the entourage of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's who will pay a five-day visit to the Kingdom.
The prime minister's Saudi visit is considered very significant as Bangladesh holds huge potential to attract Saudi investment. The business delegation leader Salman F Rahman is also very optimistic to woo Saudi investment, said Beximco press release.
The delegation includes FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association President Md Siddiqur Rahman and Bangladesh Aushad Shilpa Samity Advisory Committee Member Abdul Muktadir.
"As Bangladeshi products such as home textile, jute and leather goods, ceramic, frozen fish, halal meat, vegetable and dry food have huge demand in KSA, we will discuss ways to expand opportunities for Bangladeshi products," the press release quoted Salam F Rahman as saying.
Energy, education, construction and medicine sectors will get special priority in meetings with Saudi authorities, he added. The delegation will also have a meeting with Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry where investment potential and opportunities in Bangladesh will be highlighted.
