Educationists suggest to scrap MCQ

Eminent educationists have suggested to scrap Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) from the examinations.

They made the suggestions at a views-exchange meeting at CIRDAP auditorium in the capital on Thursday.

The meeting was organised to find out ways to improve the quality of education at the secondary level.

The educationists also suggest to stop use of note and guide books. They also recommend to amend curricula and simplify text books.

Currently, students answer questions of 40 marks in MCQ while they answer questions of 60 marks in creativity.

Among others, education minister Nurul Islam Nahid, professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, former govornor of Bangladesh Mohammad Farshuddin, professor Mohammad Zafar Iqbal and former adviser of the caretaker government Rasheda K Chowdhury addressed the meeting.
