The senior adviser of China's Yunnan province has invited Bangladesh to join the fourth South Asia Expo in Kunming and offered "some free stalls" for Bangladeshi businesses. Zhong Mian said they would also keep "preferential" stalls for Bangladeshi businesses so that they participate with a view to expanding trade and business relationship between the countries. He was meeting the state minister for foreign affairs, Md Shahriar Alam, on Monday at the latter's office in Dhaka. The foreign ministry said Mian, who is also Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party of China - Yunnan Province, was leading a six member delegation ahead of the expo scheduled for June 12 to June 17. He invited the state minister to the expo and said that Yunnan was also "deeply engaged" with Bangladesh as part of Dhaka and Beijing's "close ties". The state minister, in turn, urged the adviser to create "opportunities" for the Bangladesh business sector to explore the "full potential of cooperation" particularly with the provinces of China lying geographically closer to Bangladesh. ?bdnews14.com
