Primary education extended upto class VIII

The government has finalised the decision to extend the level of primary education up to Class VIII instead of class V.

The decision was taken at a meeting on "Implementing the Education Policy"  held at the conference room of the Education Ministry on Wednesday in presence of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman.

From now on, the Primary and Mass Education Ministry will deal all activities of the primary education.

bdnews24.com adds : It’s in accordance with the 2010 National Education Policy, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said on Wednesday.

"This is a one-of-its-kind decision in the history of the country’s education system” Nahid told the media after the meeting.
