Govt to ensure education for all

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday observed that there is no reason to fail in the examination as the government is providing huge opportunities to the students for their proper education.
She said this when Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed her the results of Secondary School Certificates (SSC) examination, at Ganabhaban in the presence of  Education Secretary Sohrab Hossain and chairmen of the education boards and senior officials.
The results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination under eight education boards and equivalent examinations under the Madrasa and technical education boards were published on Wednesday with 88.29 percent pass rate.
Prime Minister urged the students, guardians and teachers to avail of the opportunities created by the government for development of education and give proper attention to education of the children.
She said a nation cannot prosper without proper education. Terming the country's children and youths as its future leaders, Prime Minister said our future generation should have knowledge of present technological era." "We want to provide modern education to our children through introducing multimedia system in classrooms." As a result, the government has attached importance to technical and vocational education for their market demand. She said the government has also given priority to teachers training to make them capable to provide modern education to the students.
She asserted that her government is working for creating proper education environment in educational institutions, the government is renovating school buildings, providing scholarship and text books free of cost.
Pointing out the facilities created by the government for development of education, the Prime Minister said distribution of textbooks free of cost and scholarship for students from primary to higher education level have lessened financial burden on guardians to a large extent.
Congratulating the successful students, the Prime Minister said, "The pass rate has been increased, though some students became unsuccessful. She said, "Our children are meritorious. So they cannot fail in the examination."
