Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday said the decision on slashing the transport fares will be taken on Monday.
"Following a cut in fuel oil prices, the decision to lower the transport fares will be taken at a meeting with the stakeholders on Monday," he said.
The minister was talking to reporters after inspecting the construction works on an underpass on Chandra-Nabinagar highway in front of Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialised Hospital in Tetulbari area of the district. Talking about the recent murders, Obaidul Quader termed those 'target killings', saying the government has taken a tough stance in this regard.
Criticising the US for its reactions to the Kalabagan double murder, he said, "Although a Bangladesh couple was killed in California, John Kerry has no headache. Their all headaches are centred at Kalabagan double murder."
