The condition of the team was not well and coach Manik would be happy with a draw while Sk Jamal DC inked a 3-2 win over Singapore club Tampines Rovers Football Club on Tuesday in their final round match of the AFC Cup-2016 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
But, the win brought no benefit for the Dhanmondi boys. Colleting three points from the match, they are still languishing at the bottom of the four-team group.
Gambian striker Landing Darboe placed a header of Nigerian striker Emeka into the net to place Sk Jamal ahead.
Yet the Tampines boys levelled the margin with a header of skipper Mustafic in the last minute of the first half, Nigerian Emeka took second lead for the Jamal boys in the 56th minute.
The match tied again in the 70th minute. Tampines Rovers striker Billy Mehmet scored the equaliser.
Jamal's Landing Darboe scored the mach winning goal in the 82nd minute of the match.
Eight players including Mamunl are not in the team who had played for the club last year.
Beside, the Bengal yellows are suffering from bad defence line up for awhile. Their promising foreign strikers Emeka and Wedson played the match though they were in injury.
They had to play the match bringing two booters, striker Jewel Rana and midfielder Monayem Khan Raju, from Abahani and Sk Russel.
The Jamal boys took a perfect revenge against the Singapore rivals winning the match as they were stunned by 4-0 margin to the same rival earlier on February 23 in Singapore.
Losing four previous matches of the round, it was a curtsey match for the Jamal boys who had less expectation to attain from the match while the Singapore boys were looking forward to bag full three points to stay advance in their race to championship.
The defending champions of Bangladesh Premier League Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd will play one more away match in the round against Ceres FC of Philippine on May 10.
Sk Jamal lose by 2-0
margin to the Philippine boys in their home match earlier.
