Comilla: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday interrogated members of Victoria College Theatre over the killing of their group member Sohagi Jahan Tonu.
The investigators said Tonu, a second year history student of Comilla Victoria College and a member of Victoria College Theatre, along with some of her friends in the theatre went on an excursion to a tea estate in Srimangal two days before she was found dead.
Special superintendent of CID’s Comilla-Noakhali region Dr Nazmul Karim said Tonu had long been involved with the theatre and had close contacts with some of her friends at the theatre.
The CID quizzed the members of the theatre at CID’s Comilla office.
The CID officer, however, declined to reveal how many of the theatre members were interrogated or whether there is any visible progress in the investigation.
Sohagi Jahan Tonu, 19, a second year history student of Comilla Victoria College and a member of Victoria College Theatre, was found
dead at Comilla Mainamati Cantonment hours after she had gone out of her house for private tuition on March 20.
The Tonu murder case was shifted to the CID on March 29 to expedite its probe.
Later, a six-member probe committee, headed by Dhaka senior police super Abdul Kahhar Akand, was formed on March 30 to assist the
