A seminar on 'Element of Bengali language & Culture in England, Portugal and France' was held at academic building of Gono Bishwabidyalay on April 7.
Dean of Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences of Gono Bishwabidyalay Prof Mahmud Shah Qureshi presented photocopy of three rare books in the seminar. These were the first grammar of the Bengali Language Kripashasrer Orthoved and Vocabulary of Bengali language and Portuguese written by Manoel da Assumpcam. Recently he collected these books from Lisbon Library of Portugal.
Director General of Bangla Academy Prof Shamsuzzaman Khan attended the seminar as chief guest. Assistant Prof of Modern Language Institute of Dhaka University Rofikun Monir Chowdhury, Prof Kazi Rafiqul Haque, Monsur Musa, Ataur Rahman Khan, and Assistant Prof Dr. Rahman Chowdhury of Gono Bishwabidyalay spoke on the occasion.
Vice Chancellor of Gono Bishwabidyalay Prof. Mesbahuddin Ahmad presided over the seminar. Trustee of Gono Bishwabidyalay Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury, Pro-vice-chancellor Dr. Delwar Hossain and Registrar Md. Delower Hossain were also present in the programme.
