The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) will launch probes against the Bangladeshi citizens and intuitions named in Panama Papers leaked recently, the ACC secretary said on Thursday.
"The names of some Bangladeshi people and intuitions surfaced in the media alleging that they have linked with Panama Papers scam. The Commission will launch probes against them," ACC Secretary Abu M Mustafa Kamal told reporters at his office on Thursday noon.
A three-member team has been formed in this regard, he said, adding that the ACC may collect information of their money laundering from abroad through the Attorney General Office, if necessary.
ACC Deputy Director Akhter Hamid is leading the team. The three-member body will work to find out whether any Bangladeshis or institutions named in Panama Papers have offshore accounts or not.    ?UNB
