Apr 3: The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) submitted a charge
sheet to a court against Barrister Shakila Farzana and 32 others in a
case filed with Hathazari police under Anti Terrorism Act. The charge sheet was submitted to the Chittagong Chief Judicial Magistrate Munsi Mosiur Rahman's court on Sunday afternoon. Chittagong-based
RAB-7 official Ruhul Amin filed the charge sheet of the case under the
Terrorism Prevention Act. Chief Commanding Officer (CO) of RAB-7
Lieutenant Commander Mifta Uddin Ahmed confirmed the news to the Daily
Observer. RAB arrested Barrister Shakila Farzana, daughter of former
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) whip Sayed Wahidul Alam, and two
other lawyers on August 18 of 2015 for their alleged funding to a
militant outfit. Shakila and her associates were shown arrested in
the case filed according to the raid at Shaheed Hamza Brigade's academic
training centre, Al Madrasatul Abu Bakar in Hathazari, on February 19,
2015. Meanwhile, Rapid Action Battalion busted Hamza Brigade's
military training camp in a remote hilly area of Banshkhali on February
21, 2015.
