The Hindu teachers, students and officials of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia formed a human chain at the campus on Sunday, protesting ransacking of holy temple, and demanding punishment of the miscreants. The chain was formed at 11am in front of the university's administration building.
Puja Celebration Committee president of the university Professor Dr Arbinda Saha presided over the programme and vice president of the committee Shimul Mojumdar conducted it while Professor Dr Goutom Kumar Das, Professor Dr Paresh Chandra Barmon, Professor Dr Dipok Kumar Paul, Professor Dr Tapan Kumar Zoddar, Dr Tapan Kumar Roy, Sonjoy Kumar Adhikary, among other Hindu teachers, students and officials participated in the demonstration.
They demanded to the university authority for the punishment of the miscreants who were involved with the temple ransacking.
Later, they handed over a memorandum to the university vice chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Hakim Sarker to investigate the incident so as to bring the miscreants to book.
