East West University (EWU) and the Liberation War Museum jointly organized a special program to celebrate the Independence Day yesterday at EWU's permanent campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka. The programme included speeches, picture and poster exhibition, documentary exhibition on the Liberation War, recitation of poems, and patriotic songs.    
Speeches were given by Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology Architect Yafes Osman, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury Bir Bikram, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of EWU and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank  Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin Shamsul Alam, Freedom Fighter  Dr. Sarwar Ali and Trustee of Liberation War Museum Tariq Ali, members of "Projonmo Ekattor" Roquaiya Hasina Neely and Asif Munir. The ceremony was also attended by , Vice Chancellor of EWU Prof Dr. MM Shahidul Hassan and Member of the Board of Trustees of the university Dr. Rafiqul Huda Chaudhury. Before the commencement they inaugurated the 'Liberation War Corner' at the university library.
