Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) observed Independence Day on March 26 in a befitting manner.
To mark the day, national flag was hoisted in front of all offices and residential halls of the university.
Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Ali Akbar paid tribute to the liberation war martyrs in 1971 placing floral wreath at the "Muktijoddha Smiriti Stamba" (Liberation War Memorial) on the occasion of the National and Independence Day where he was accompanied by teachers, students, officers, employees and members of various socio-cultural organizations.
In honour of the martyrs, all observed one minute silence in front of the "Muktijoddha Smiriti Stamba".
Earlier on, at 7 am military parade and physical exercise was also held at the university auditorium.
The university authorities also organised prayers at the university mosques and temples for the liberation martyrs.
