
The body of the film actress was taken to Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) around 10am where her second namaz-e-janaza held with taking part of host of relatives, lots of film artists and her well-wisher.
The famous film actress breathed her last at United Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon. She had been suffering from brain cancer for a long time.
As there was no sign of improvement in her condition, she was brought back home in January last and admitted to United Hospital.
Diti was married to film actor Sohel Chowdhury who had died in 1998. She is survived by daughter Lamia Chowdhury, son Shafayet Chowdhury and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.
Diti will be laid to rest at her family graveyard in Sonargaon of Narayanganj.
Born on March 31, 1965 in Sonargaon, Diti wish to become a singer, was even awarded at a national competition by the Shishu Academy.
She won the Bangladesh National Film Award as the best actress in a supporting role in 1987 for her performance in ‘Shami Stri’.
