Man gets life for killing brother

MYMENSINGH, Mar 8: A court here on Monday sentenced a man for killing his brother around six years ago.
The convict is Paresh Chandra Basak of Hotiar village in Gouripur upazila of the district.
The court also fined him Tk 10,000, in default to suffer one more year in prison.
Four others accused in the case were acquitted, court sources said.
As per the case in brief, there had been a dispute between Paresh Chandra Basak and his brother Krishna Chandra Basak, 65, over a piece of land.
On May 29, 2010 When Krishna was sitting at a tea stall of the village, Paresh and his men locked in an altercation with him. At one stage, Paresh and his men attacked on Krishna with sharp weapons, leaving him seriously injured.
He was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital but he died there after several days.
Krishna's son Haridan Chandra Basak lodged a murder case with Gouripur Police Station accusing five persons including Paresh.
