When Mahmudullah hit four in the first ball of the last over to make the final of the Asia Cup routing Pakistan by five wickets the crowed of Mirpur burst into wild celebrations that spread across the capital as well as the whole country.
The cricket frenzy people of Bangladesh went for victory march waving National flag on the roads around the country during the dying hours of Wednesday to celebrate the heroic win, chanting slogans 'Tigers, Tigers, Tigers'. The people not only went wild but also the celebration of the team was something which never happened before.
Hitting the winning shot Mahmudullah ran towards the dressing room and made slide on the green grass of the field and Nasir jumped over Mahmudullah running out of the dressing room. When Mahmudullah was running towards the dressing room, Mashrafe was also running wild as he did not know what to do. Meanwhile, the whole team joined the celebration that created a special obsession that will stick in the minds of all for long.
After the match the Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe also mentioned that he actually had no idea what to do that time.
In 2012, Bangladesh made the final of the Asia Cup but lost to Pakistan by two runs. Mahmudullah was on crease and he could not make nine runs that were needed in the final over. And this time Mahmudullah gave the finishing touch to make the final outplaying Pakistan which gave a different dimension to celebrate the occasion.
