SHERPUR, Feb 28: A group of people in Sherpur formed a human chain on Sunday to protest against beating tigers to death.
They called for conservation of biodiversity and protection of wild animals and thereby urged people to be conscious about protection of nature and lives.
Civil society platform Janoudyag organised the human chain here in association with the IED and Channel-i at the Colectorate Square in the town.
Speakers at the programme called upon the people not to disturb the wild animals.
People have been urged to inform the Department of Forest, if any wild animal is found in the locality.
Sherpur Press Club President Advocate Rafiqul Islam Adhar, Districrt Forest Officer Md Kamruzzaman, General Secretary of the Debating Club of Sherpur Government College Shuvonkar Shaha and Udichi President Tapan Sarwar spoke on the occasion.
