Kushtia : Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Saturday said BNP is conspiring to create instability in the country over the upcoming countrywide union parishad polls.

“BNP wants to use the election process to destabilise the country,” he said while talking to reporters before attending a reception accorded to freshers at Bheramara Degree College.

The Information Minister came up with the remarks in response to the doubt aired by BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi about fair polls at grassroots level.

Since 1990, Inu noted, BNP has been skeptical about all the agencies, including the armed forces, whenever it faces defeat in any election.

Deputy commissioner of Kushtia Syed Belal Hossain, superintendent of police Proloy Chisim and upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Bheramara Shanti Moni Chakma were also present at the function.
