Dhaka: Sirajul Islam Bachchu Bhuiyan, a former MP from Madaripur-2 constituency and adviser of the district unit BNP, passed away here on Monday. He was 65.
Family sources said Bhuiyan breathed his last at his residence around 9am.
The BNP leader ad long been suffering from kidney diseases.
He left behind his two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
Bhuiyan was also a freedom fighter and current president of Madaripur Banik Samity.
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock at his death.
In a condolence message, Fakhrul prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
