Qatar to recruit 3 lakh migrants from Bangladesh

The government of Qatar has expressed its intention to recruit over 3,00,000 migrant workers from Bangladesh in two years.

Qatar Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Minister Issa Saad Al-Fafali Al- Nuaimi has expressed his intention when a high-level delegation led by Bangladesh Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc has held a bilateral meeting with him in Qatar, says a press release of expatriates' welfare and overseas eemployment ministry on Wednesday.

A joint working group meeting is scheduled to be held in March in Dhaka to start the process.

Centring Fatball World Cup of 2022 in Qatar, the country needs huge number of foreign workers as massive development activities are going on.

During the meeting, the Bangladesh minister requested the Qatar minister to recruit skilled and semi skilled workers from Bangladesh.

Nurul Islam also claims that Bangladesh has sufficient trained and skilled workers.

The Qatar minister said, "We want to recruit salesman, nurse, doctors, engineers and office staff from Bangladesh".  

He lauded the government  of Qatar for recruiting 1,23,000 workers from Bangladesh in 2015.

The Bangladsh expat minster invited the Qatar labour minister to visit Bangladesh.

Nurul Islam has gone to Qatar on a three-day official visit. He is expected to return on February 6.
