Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday demonstrated her total shyness while unveiling the cover of the brail version of the book titled "Sabuj Math Periye" written by herself.
The incident took place at the inaugural ceremony of the month-long "Grantha Mela" of Bangla Academy where the Prime Minister was the chief guest along with a galaxy of litterateurs and intelligentsia of national and international repute.
Noted Cultural activist Ramendra Majumder, the co-announcer of the ceremony, when announced over microphone that Prime Minister would now unveil the cover of "Sabuj Math Periye" , apparently shy Sheikh Hasina hide her face by her hands as she was aware that it was her own book.
The jam-packed multi-national audience of the tastefully decorated venue at the sprawling green of the Bangla Academy enjoyed the moment as the shyness of Sheikh Hasina was visible by her body language and face-cutting.
Besides, when Joe Winter, a British poet who was special guest on the occasion, presented Sheikh Hasina three books composed by him, the smiling Sheikh Hasina immediately reciprocated the spirit of the author by presenting him one copy of "Shabuj Math Periye". At the same time Sheikh Hasina also presented all the foreign guests with one copy of her book.
A book-lover Sheikh Hasina also did not forget to present one copy of her book to Emeritus Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman who was presiding over the function as the President of Bangla Academy.
