The standing committee on Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs put forward its objection after reviewing five bills at a meeting at the parliament building on Wednesday.
The bills, aiming to enhance pay for the president, prime minister, speaker and deputy speakers, ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers, and MPs, were presented at the meeting for a review.
After the meeting, committee chief Suranjit Sengupta told reporters that the panel would submit its report on the bills in Parliament.
“But, the committee will hold meetings with the finance minister and Cabinet Division on Feb 18 as there are objections to the (proposed) salary of MPs,” he said.
