An awareness raising cultural programme promoting veterinary education was held at Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin auditorium of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh on Saturday night.
The programme was organised by Bangladesh Society for Veterinary Education and Research (BSVER) as a part of a two-day annual scientific conference on "Emerging and re-emerging parasitic diseases of zoonotic importance."
The title of the cultural programme was "Sat Rong". The programme featured music, solo and group dance performances, recitation, funny news presentation and stage drama.
All the performers were the teachers and students of veterinary faculty of BAU.
Throughout this programme, they ran a campaign to raise awareness about different parasitic diseases of zoonotic importance. They staged a special drama to highlight the importance of veterinary education for the sake of animals and humans welfare.
Prior to the cultural programme, a short discussion was held, which was presided over by Dr Mahmudul Hassan Shikdar, Member Secretary of the Cultural Sub-committee.
'Cultural programme is a social media, which raises awareness among people of any kind of bad impact which are created in the society,' said Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Islam, President of BSVER.
Among others, Prof Dr Md Abdus Samad, Dean of Veterinary Faculty, Prof Dr Md Musharraf Uddin Bhuiyan, General Secretary of BSVER, Prof Dr Mirza Abul Hashem, Chairman of Organizing Committee and Prof Dr Sukumar Saha,k Member Secretary of Organizing Committee and Prof Dr Emdadul Hoque Chowdhury, Chairman of Cultural Sub-committee were present at the programme.
Over two thousands of audience enjoyed the programme at the
auditorium.
