PANCHAGARH, Jan 20: A survey on 36 former enclaves has been finished, and a sketch map has been documented in the land record office here.
Secretary for Land Ministry Mesbaul Alam handed over the sketch map (pre-land survey) of the erstwhile enclaves in Panchagarh to Director General (DG) of Land Record Directorate Abdul Jalil on Tuesday afternoon.
Following handing over the pre-survey report of land of the enclaves, a simple ceremony was held at the conference room of deputy commissioner's office with additional Deputy Commissioner Mahmudul Alam in the chair.
The speakers said at the ceremony a total of 11,932.74 acres of land with the ownership of 25,373 people were recorded in all 36 ex-enclaves.
The first phase of a land survey started on 15 October last year, and it continued till November 15.
The aim of the survey is to give ownership officially to the people of the former enclaves, examination of land documents and determination of possession, sources said.
The district administration formed three separate vigilance committees headed by UNOs, and nine teams for 36 ex-enclaves of Panchagarh Sadar, Boda and Debiganj upazilas to conduct the land survey in the former enclaves.
A total of 18 teams conducted land survey simultaneously in all 111 former Indian enclaves in Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Kurigram and Lalmonirhat districts, sources said.
The post-survey of land will be started digitally on Wednesday (January 20), and it will be completed within July, the speakers informed.
