Army get two river bank protection contracts

Two security agencies, Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy, are set to obtain two separate projects for riverbank protection under the direct procurement method (DPM).

As per the proposals placed by the Water Resource Management Ministry to the Cabinet Division, the Bangladesh Army will get a 1300 meter river bank protection works at a location adjacent f the ongoing Padma Bridge project’s river training works.

The 1300 meter area is located at Mawa old ferry terminal to Kandipara-Jasholdia area.

The Bangladesh Navy-operated Dockyard and Engineering Works Ltd will get the right side river bank protection works of the Jamuna River at Krunibari to Chandanbaisa in the Sariakandi upazila of Bogra district.

The Cabinet Economic Affairs Committee is set to consider the two proposals to award contract to the two defence bodies without any tender.
