CHUADANGA, Jan 18: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-6, in separate drives, recovered 217 bottles of Indian wine from two separate places here on Monday.
Commanding Officer of BGB-6 Chuadanga Lieutenant Colonel SM Moniruzzaman BGBM, PBGM, said on a tip-off, a BGB team led by Natunpara Camp Commander Habilder Abul Kalam raided a mango orchard at Natunpara village under Jibannagar upazila at 5am and seized 120 bottles of Indian wine in an abandoned condition.
But drug peddlers fled from the spot, sensing BGB men's presence. However, nobody was arrested in this connection.
In another drive, another BGB team from Darshana camp led by Subeder Nazrul Islam raided a field at Iswarchandrapur village under the same upazila at 5:30am and recovered 97 bottles of Indian liquor in abandoned state. But, none was arrested.
