Grameen Shakti (GS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to use SureCash mobile banking and payment platform held in the city on Wednesday.
GS Managing Director Nurjahan Begum, COO Sohel Ahmed and CFO Abdus Sattar, and SureCash CEO Dr Shahadat Khan, CBO Md Abu Taleb and VP Md Faruk Hosen attended the signing ceremony.
Under the MoU, 1.6 million GS customers living across the country's remote areas will use mobile-phone based SureCash automated payment platform to pay the installments for its Solar Home Systems.
Sure Cash is a complete mobile banking and payment platform, currently operating in agreement with 6 banks in Bangladesh.
Using this platform, a customer can send money all over the country, can make various payments such as education fees, utility bills, and online purchases, recharge mobile balance and receive personal remittance using own phone.
Customers may open mobile banking account or deposit/withdraw cash at any of the 35,000 SureCash retail agents distributed around the country.
