Bangladesh U-19 team will face their West Indies U-19 counterpart in the first match of the three-match warm-up one-day series in preparation for the U-19 World Cup today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Ahead of the match on Sunday after the practice session Bangladesh skipper Mehedi Hasan Miraz said they are aiming to win all the three matches.
Miraz said, "We will go to play with the goal of winning all the three matches. We want to play the World Cup with confidence.
The series is very important for both the sides as the World Cup will start from January 27 just after few days of the series and Miraz considering it as the last chance to recover the mistakes.
He said, "This series is very important to us. It is the chance to take our last preparation before the World Cup. Besides, we will try to recover our mistakes in this series.
Miraz does not want to do any experiment and want to play according to the plan as he said, "There is no chance for experiment. We will play according to our plan. The World Cup is knocking at the door and there is no chance for experiment. We will try to fight utilising our strength."
In recent time, the young Tigers batters are going through some ups and downs and Miraz is focusing most on their batting.
He said, "We focused on our batting most. The work will be easy for us if our batter can score. The West Indians pacers are really good. If we can dominate them (WI) it will help a lot for the World Cup preparation."
Like the skipper, coach Mizanur Rahman Babul want to see their batters bounce back in the series.
He said, "There are many places where we need to improve before the World Cup and we are working with that. It will be a great relief if our batters can bounce back."
There are numbers of lefty batters in the West Indies team and Miraz thinks their right arm off-spinners will take tough test of them.
He said, "West Indies have numbers of lefty batters and we have four right arm off-spinners. This will help us a lot."
Agreeing with the skipper also hails the spinners saying, "They have numbers of lefty batters but we have off-spinners as well. Hope our spin attacks can beat them."
About the West Indies series coach said, "Now our all focus is on the West Indies series. We do not know about their team well. I am trying to give the boys some idea from internet.
Coach also hoped to win the series as he said, "'Earlier, we beat them in West Indies. So the boys are more confident now. Hopefully they will bring good result."
