Following a 1-1 draw on Sunday against Bahrain, Bangladesh U-23 National Football Team Head Coach Gonzalo Sanchez Moreno said that he was expecting more but not unhappy at the performance of his boys.
It was Gonzalo Sanchez Moreno's first test after his assignment as the head coach of the Bangladesh Olympic Team in October last year. Bengal youths didn't play any matches in the meantime.
Despite his satisfaction, coach said that the boys would win the match if they could utilise some opportunities they got in the both halves.
He said that the opponents were strong and they played well.
The Spanish coach said "I'm happy with the draw."
"My boys squandered at least three certain chances to score and if they can make use of those then we could win."
But, the coach was not very pleased at the ground condition.
"This filed in here is not suitable for playing football and that's why my boys could not play their usual game."
Bangladesh's Assistant Coach Syed Golam Jilani said that Rubel was named the man of the match but he was quite selfish in the match.
"He tried to play individually instead of a team game. He is an immature player and that's normal at his age but if he didn't do it then the result would be different today."
Yusuf Sifat, who netted the goal for Bangladesh, said that he was very happy after scoring his first international goal in this match. He was shown a yellow card for pulled off the jersey during the match after the goal.
The midfielder said, "It would be justified today if we could win the match. We played the match well but failed to win."
"It is our common problem that we are failing to maintain our position after taking the lead. We will try to recover from this problem."
Bahrain coach Murjan Eid also complained about the ground condition.
He said, "I'm happy with my boys about the match but not happy with the condition of the ground."
