THAKURGAON, Jan 7: Month-long Commerce and Industries Fair began here on Wednesday evening on the Public Library premises.
Organised by Thakurgaon Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the fair was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Chandra Biswas.
On the occasion, a discussion meeting was held on the fair premises. The meeting presided over by Thakurgaon Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Habibul Islam Bablu was addressed, among others, by Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Chandra Biswas, Superintendent of Police Farhat Ahmed, District Council Administrator Sadeque Qureshi, Mayor of Thakurgaon Pourasabha SMA Moin, Vice-President of Chamber of Commerce and Industries Murad Hossain, and Director of Chamber of Commerce and Industries Shariful Islam Sharif.
The speakers said that by organising Commerce and Industries fair, the business of this area could be enhanced. At the same time, the people of this area can buy different goods which are not always available here.
The speakers further said that to protect the young generation from the clutches of drugs, the fair can play a good role by diverting the young generation towards business activities.
