RAJSHAHI, Jan 7: Police, in a drive, arrested three drug peddlers along with 20 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from Nimpara area under Chargaht upazila here on Monday night.
They are: Masud Rana, 25, son of Abul Kalam, Liton, 26, son of Gonesh and Alamgir Hossain, 25, son of Alauddin Hossain. All hail from different villages of Natore district.
Nibaran Chandra Barman, sub-inspector (SI) of Charghat Police Station, confirmed the matter on Tuesday morning and said, on a tip-off, police raided the Nimpara area and arrested them with the contraband items.
After interrogation, the detainees confessed to their involvement in drug peddling for long.
Necessary legal steps would be taken against the arrested, the SI added.
