Six of a family injured in rival attack

MYMENSINGH, Dec 18: At least six members of a family were injured when rivals attacked them over trifling matter at Joyda village under Muktagachha upazila here on Thursday morning.
The injured are: Amir Hossain, 38, Anwara Begum, 26, Monwara Begum, 28, Billal Hossain, 28, Dulal Uddin, 25, and Moniruzzaman Munna, 17, of the village.
Police, quoting family members and locals, said, neighbours of the victims Hannan and Bhutto were drying straw on the village road.
As Amir Hossain and his family members protested it, Hannan and Bhutto were locked in an altercation with Amir Hossain.
At one stage, the duo along with their men swooped down on the protesters with sticks, injuring six persons at 10am.
Of the injured, Billal and Munna were first taken to Muktagachha upazila health complex but later Munna was shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, police said. The others were treated locally.
No case was lodged yet, said Abu Mohammad Fazlul Karim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Muktagachha Police Station.
