The Dhaka University (DU) authority has decided to severe its relations with all educational institutions in Pakistan until the country stop lying on Bangladesh's War of Liberation in 1971.

The decision was taken at an emergency syndicate meeting of the DU held on Monday.

Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique informed the journalists about the matter at a press briefing held after the Syndicate meeting.

"DU won't sign any new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or held academic exchange programme with any Pakistani university or educational institution. The programmes which are now underway to be postponed. If Pakistan seeks apology unconditionally, the syndicate will, later, take decision regarding the matter," he said.

The meeting also urged the government to be vocal for scrapping Pakistan’s membership from the United Nations and the SAARC.
