Epic Apparels Company Limited, a joint-owned company of Hong Kong and India, will invest US$ 19.55 million to establish a ready-made garment (RMG) industry in Ishwardi Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
In this connection, an agreement has recently been signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Epic Apparels Company Limited (EACL) at the BEPZA Complex in the capital, said a press release.
BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Sayed Nurul Islam and EACL Director (Finance) Prem Soni signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, Member (Engineering) Md Mosaddeque Ali, Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi, General Manager (Public Relations) Nazma Binte Alamgir and General Manager (Investment Promotion) Ahsan Kabir also attended the signing ceremony.
The RMG plant will annually produce 750,000 dozens of dress pants.
Epic Apparels Company will create employment opportunity for 3000 Bangladeshi nationals.
The company has already two garments industries in Dhaka and Adamjee EPZ and it will be their third factory in Ishwardi EPZ.
