GAIBANDHA, Dec 9: A newly constructed academic building of GUK Institute of Engineering and Technology (GUKIET) located at Nashratpur area under Sadar upazila here was opened for students on Monday morning.
Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad and local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum Gini, as chief guest, formally inaugurated the building through cutting a red tape at 11am. The building was built at a cost of Tk 2.50 crore.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) M. Abdus Samad was present at the event as special guest while Executive Chief of GUK and also Chairman of GUKIET M. Abdus Salam presided over the function.
The inaugural function was also addressed, among others, by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ashraful Momin Khan, Vice-Principal of Ahammad Uddin Shah Shishu Niketan School and College Mazharul Mannan, Vice-Principal of Sadullapur Degree College Jahurul Qaiyum and a student Parvez Ahmed.
