Sir,
November 20 is celebrated internationally as Universal Children's Day. A child is a parent's most precious possession, and in him lies the country's greatest hopes. Ensuring a proper, stable and happy childhood for them is one of the most important tasks that we have to perform.
A great number of Bangladesh's population comprises children aged from one to 14. Bangladesh is striding ahead very fast in educating its young population. Still there are lots of children who are out of school, while the stats of child labour too are alarming. Serious measures have to be taken by the government as well as parents to protect and preserve the present and future of children as they are the ones who will lead this nation in the future. Just like we look upon them as our hope they also look at us for provision of opportunities and suitable environment in which they can thrive in a productive manner. As a community, it is our responsibility to emphasise the significance of education, welfare and nourishment of children.
