Garment-worker killed near Kamalapur

An unidentified garments worker was killed while two others, including a physically challenged young man, were injured when a passenger bus hit them near Kamalapur train station in the city on Monday night.

Police quoting witnesses said the incident took place at around 8:30 pm when a passenger bus of ‘Balaka Paribahan’ ran over them at Kamalapur railway station crossing.

An unidentified female garments employee, aged around 25, died on the spot while another garment worker Hazera (35) and Jasim (30), a handicrafts man, were injured in the incident, said Sub-inspector Fazlul Haque of Shahjahanpur police station.

The injured were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

Police detained the bus and its driver.
