Bangladesh Championship League kicks off today

The Minister Freeze Bangladesh Championship League 2014-15 is rolling today, Thursday at 4:00 pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP will inaugurate the event as the chief guest. Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, MP will be in there as the guest of honour while Chairman and Managing Director of Minister Hi-Tech Park MA Razzak Khan will also attend the programme as the special guest.
Bangladesh Police AC will take on Uttar Baridhara Club in the opening match of the event.
In the next matches, Agrani Bank Ltd. SC will play T&T Club of Motijheel on Friday at 3:00 pm and Arambagh KS will meet Fakirerpool Young Men's Club on Saturday at the same venue.
A total of eight teams including Uttar Baridhara Club, Agrani Bank SC, Arambagh KS, Victoria SC, Wari Club, Fakirerpool Young Men's Club, T&T Club of Motijheel and Bangladesh Police AC are playing the second tire of the professional football league this year.
The top two teams of the BCL will be promoted to the Bangladesh Premier League for the season of 2015-16.
Earlier it was expected to play the entire BCL on the newly installed artificial turf at the Bir Shrestha Sepoy Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur. As the clearance from FIFA for the turf was not released yet, the first three out of seven rounds of matches will be played at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
