Rangpur Riders sealed a huge win of 69 runs against Dhaka Dynamites riding on the brilliant all-round performance of Shakib who was adjudged as the man of the match. But after exhibiting the anchoring performance Shakib said he did it without energy as he is exhausted.
At the post match conference Shakib said, "Still I have no energy in my body. I have played 15 balls, 3-4 balls were to hit six. But I could not. Coming here still I cannot overcome the jet lag, I am sick and suffering from dysentery and cold. Over all I have no energy.
On the day he bowled his best figure in BPL hauling four wickets for 16 runs and contributed effective 24 runs with the bat. But in the first two matches he could not do better with the bat and after third match he said he hopes he can contribute with the bat too.
He said, "It is not possible to do anything without energy. That is why I am still feel trouble to bat. Today I scored 24 runs without bating well. We have to play back to back match, no chance of practice. Hope after today I can contribute with bat.
In the match Shakib came to bat at number six and promoted Thisara and Sammy. Regarding that Shakib said it was their team plan.
"It was team plan. They have Mustafiz, he is supposed bowled at the end. We planned to send Thisara earlier, to force them to bring Mustafiz early. We succeeded in our plan. Thisara was dismissed Mustafiz later. But we did not plan to hit him. If that not happened we might score more runs in last three overs," said Shakib.
Shakib also mentioned the wicket is tough to bat later as he said, "The wicket remains live at the noon, ball come to bat. But with the time passes the wickets is getting slower. It becomes difficult to bat
latter."
