After the controversial match between Chittagong and Sylhet, the skipper of Chittagong Tamim Iqbal claimed that the owner of the Sylhet verbally abused him before the match on Monday. And BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon said on Wednesday the offender will get exampling punishment.
He said, "If the allegation of Tamim comes true the culprits will get exemplary punishment. We got written allegation from Tamim and oral from the both sides. I was absent on that day. I asked the committee to listen to the persons who were present there. Without hearing from them it is tough to find out the guilty. Hope we can find."
There was a complexity regarding NOCs of two foreign players of Sylhet Superstars Joshua Cobb and Ravi Bopara and they were not in list of playing eleven during the toss. But Sylhet fielded them and Tamim protested playing of that two overseas players. And team management of both teams and BPL technical committee were in discussion to settle the issue and it was also seen Tamim and Azizul Islam were engaged in exchanging hot words.
Papon said it was unexpected and it was not permitted for an owner to meet opponent skipper.
He said, "It is unexpected. We are investigating it. Actually the incident was not supposed to happen. According to the rules an owner cannot meet with the opponent captain. How could they meet?  According to law of ACSU they could not do it anyhow."
Problems are coming front in every BPL but Papon said this was a new problem and they overcame the previous problems of fixing and payment and they are still learning.
"We are still learning. The previous problems are not happening this time. But there are new problems. The issue of Sylhet and Chittagong, I do not consider as problem. Because, this is a basic thing. The law is saying you cannot change the team after producing the team list. But it can be altered if the opponent skipper permits you.  This is rule and there is no chance to change it," said Papon
There was a rule that every team have to play with four foreign players but on that day Sylhet played with only two. The rule was clearly breached by the technical committee but like Jalal Yunus, BCB President Papon also tilted as the interest of BPL and said they had nothing to do.
He said, "BCB had nothing to do. I do not know why they did not have the NOC's of their two players. There was another option that is walkover which might do big damage for BPL. There was nothing to give privilege."
The opening day there was also a problem as thousand of Dhaka Dynamites supporters entered to the stadium without ticket. But Papon said this happened for the mistake of guards and later he ordered to send the supporters out and lock the gate.
