Dinajpur: A case was filed against some unidentified miscreants on Wednesday night in connection with the gun attack on Italian citizen Dr Piero Picham in the town.
Sialus Kuzur, Father-in-charge of Kasba Mission, filed the case with Kotwali Police Station.
Sub-inspector Bazlur Rashid of Detective Branch (DB) of police has been made investigation officer of the case, said district DB officer-in-charge Redwanur Rahim.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami district unit secretary Mahbubur Rahman Bhuttu, who was arrested in this connection, was sent to jail on Thursday.
Police also detained 11 people for interrogation in connection with the incident, said police super Ruhul Amin.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, Dr Piero Picham, who works at a Catholic church in the district town, sustained bullet injuries in an attack by unknown miscreants at Mirzapur BRTC bus stand in the town.
He was first admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital and later airlifted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital for better treatment.
