A Tribunal of Dhaka on Tuesday fixed November 25 for pronouncing the judgement in a rape case filed against Parimal Joydhar, of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, for raping one of his girl students. On Tuesday the Parimal's lawyer advocate Mahfuzur Rahman concluded his arguments with a prayer to acquit him as he claimed that the prosecution failed to prove the case. Earlier on November 1, the prosecution completed its argument with a prayer to give the highest punishment to the accused teacher, Parimal, as the accused was guilty of committing the crime of raping the girl. Judge Salauddin Ahmed of the Fourth Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal heard the arguments of both the prosecution and the defence sides and fixed the date of delivering the judgement on Tuesday. According to the case, Viqarunnisa Noon School and College of Bashundhara branch teacher Parimal on May 28 in 2011 raped one of his girl students in his personal coaching centre and recorded the incident with his mobile phone. He then intimidated the girl, saying he would post the video recordings and the photos on the internet if she told anyone about the rape incident. Parimal reapeated the same again on June 17 the same year by threatening to post the video recordings and the photos on the internet. Later, the girl made a written complaint to the school authorities, but former principal Hosne Ara Begum, along with some teachers, tried to save the accused teacher, Parimal Joydhar. The guardians of the students and news published in the national dailies compelled the school authority to sack rape case accused Parimal on July 5 in 2011.
